Society has a unique opportunity to integrate circularity at the core. The entrance of large battery systems in EVs is about to create a massive 10M+ tonne hazardous waste problem, with the accompanying potential to supply over 200GWh of circular energy storage.
Cling customers can:
- Have a route to market for used EV batteries as ICEs are phased out.
- Benefit from reduced logistics costs – matching supply and demand which is local.
- Secure waste battery supplies before they reach recycling and the commodity markets or access them outside established takeback systems.
Cling is building the world’s first online mine. It is a real time map of used EV battery packs, their technical specifications and the critical materials they contain. Without this level of insight, achieving circular flows of EV batteries – i.e. ensuring that each one goes to where the most commercial and environmental benefits is captured – will not scale
